You will form the management team of your own Bicycle Manufacturing Company; making all the key functional decisions involving:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Product Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Firm Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Operations Management<\/li>\n<li>Design and Development<\/li>\n<li>Finance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The primary goal of your company is to enrich its shareholders (owners) by providing a return on their investment in your company. This is measured by the amount of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/mikesbikes-shareholder-value\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shareholder Value (SHV)<\/a>\u00a0you can create in comparison to your competitors<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-get-started\">How to get started<\/h2>\n<p>When the simulation begins, you will be sent your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/what-are-my-login-details\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">login details<\/a>\u00a0by either your instructor or by Smartsims.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smartsims website\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>with the login details emailed to you.<\/li>\n<li>You may need to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/help-with-simulation-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">register for your simulation<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Launch your company by click on the blue launch button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"rollovers\">Rollovers<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/how-do-i-rollover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Rollover<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is the term used to describe moving from one year (decision period) to the next. A Rollover will process your currently entered decisions in the simulation for the year ahead.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"single-player-vs-multi-player\">Single-Player &amp; Multi-Player<\/h3>\n<p>MikesBikes Advanced has two phases of the simulation. It is important that you know the difference between these phases, and that you are entering your decisions in the correct World.<\/p>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t<span class=\"hts-messages__title\">Help<\/span>    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tSome courses will not use the simulation as described below, please check your Course Outline for more information    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n<p><strong>Single-Player Phase:\u00a0<\/strong>In the Single-Player you will compete against a single computer-controlled competitor. In the Single-Player you are able to roll forward into the next decision period\/year or roll back as you wish in order to test and change your decisions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Multi-Player Phase:\u00a0<\/strong>In the Multi-Player you will compete either individually or in teams against other student-run companies in your class. Moving from one year (decision period) to the next is done by automatic rollover on pre-set dates scheduled by your instructor.
