As the simulation progresses, new decision areas will be made available to you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Year 1:<\/strong> Sales and Marketing only<\/li><li><strong>Year 2:<\/strong> The addition of Sales Promotion<\/li><li><strong>Year 3:<\/strong> The addition of Product Development and New Product Launch<\/li><li><strong>Year 4 and beyond:<\/strong> Additional Product Launches available<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary goal of your company is to beat your competitors by maximizing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/music2go-marketing-contribution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Total Marketing Contribution (TMC)<\/a> of your firm. TMC is measured by the total amount of Marketing Contribution you can create each year in comparison to your competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-get-started\">How to get started<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When the simulation begins, you will be sent your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/what-are-my-login-details\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">login details<\/a>&nbsp;by either your instructor or by Smartsims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Log into the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smartsims website&nbsp;<\/a><\/strong>with the login details emailed to you.<\/li><li>You may need to&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/help-with-simulation-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">register for your simulation<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/logging-into-your-simulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Launch your company<\/strong><\/a> by clicking on the blue launch button.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"rollovers\">Rollovers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsims.com\/support\/article\/how-do-i-rollover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Rollover<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;is the term used to describe moving from one year (decision period) to the next. A Rollover will process your currently entered decisions in the simulation for the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"single-player-multi-player\">Single-Player &amp; Multi-Player<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Music2Go has two phases of the simulation. It is important that you know the difference between these phases, and that you are entering your decisions in the correct World.<\/p>\n\n\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t<span class=\"hts-messages__title\">Help<\/span>    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tSome courses will not use the simulation as described below, please check your Course Outline for more information.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Single-Player Phase:&nbsp;<\/strong>In the Single-Player you will compete against one or four (depending on your course) computer-controlled competitors. In the Single-Player you are able to roll forward into the next decision period\/year or roll back as you wish in order to test and change your decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Multi-Player Phase:&nbsp;<\/strong>In the Multi-Player you will compete either individually or in teams against other student-run companies in your class, or computer-controlled competitors (depending on your course).
